History
1983: Dr Jean-Michel Lichtenberger founds SMI to address the specific medical problems of people, businesses and organizations operating in hostile environments.
1992: SMI extends its activity to the supply of health products for these same customers, then disposes of its services branch to an international group in 1998 to concentrate on health products and medicines with a philosophy of services and research for solutions to the problems of its customers that require health products.
2003: SMI launches its “Malaria Curative Kit” on the market, exclusively aimed at businesses sending staff to countries at risk from malaria. This kit becomes a standard in the oil industry.
2006: SMI creates SMI Pharma, a wholesale pharmaceutical export subsidiary, authorized to process medicine. This means SMI can improve its offer both in terms of price and quality.
2008: SMI creates SMI Africa in order to develop the offer of quality medicines at a price affordable to the local African market.
2009 sees the birth of the SureMeds label, offering SMI customers the guarantee on pharmaceutical products (medicines and medical equipment) of quality at the best price. After Cameroon, the company is now expanding in other African countries and the rest of the world.
